Radical Announces 2010 Radical Netherlands Cup

The calendar for the inaugural Radical Netherlands Cup has been announced, following hugely positive tests at Zandvoort, generating massive interest in the new race series.

Over 25 potential competitors tested the Radical SR3 RS at the Dutch circuit, with the car running faultlessly throughout the day. Amongst those singing the praises of the SR3’s superb handling and performance was Melroy Heemskerk, reigning Formula Ford Benelux Champion, and Dutch GT driver Niels Bouwhuis.

The Radical Netherlands Cup will be promoted as part of the Dutch Power Pack (DPP), an exclusive package of race series which includes the Dutch GT4 Championship. Radicals will also feature on the billing of Holland’s most prestigious motorsport event, the Tango Masters of Formula 3, held at Zandvoort in August.

The 1340cc SR3 RS lapped the Zandvoort International circuit in an impressive 1m42s, over eight seconds faster than any of the GT4 competitors this year.

Using the Radical UK Cup’s winning formula of two 45-minute races at each event, alongside qualifying and practice sessions, the Radical Netherlands Cup also allows two drivers to share one car. Entry fees are set at only €500, making the series the most affordable top-line sportscar racing in the Netherlands.

03/04 July: TT-Circuit Assen, DPP Festival
07/08 August: Zandvoort, Tango Masters of Formula 3
05 September: Zandvoort, Trophy of the Dunes
09/10 October: Zandvoort, Finaleraces
